Kathak Dance Legend Pandit Birju Maharaj Passed Away at the age of 83
World Popular Kathak dancer Pandit Birju Maharaj passed away on 16th Jan who was the residence in Delhi, at the age of 83 year had reportedly suffered a heart attack. He was under treatment for the last few month. He had sudden breathlessness at mid-night around 12:16-12:35 AM last night, we brought him to the hospital but he passed away, About Pandit Birju Maharaj:- Birju Maharaj Ji Was an icon of Indian classical dance – he was getting the Padma Vibhushan, India’s second highest civilian award. he was a legend of Indian classical dancer and among all over the country’s most well known performing Classical dance artists Maharaj was suffering from a kidney ailment and was undergoing dialysis and likely died of cardiac arrest, He was born into a family of Kathak dancers and trained under his uncle and father, Acchan Maharaj, before giving his first performance at the age of 8. Kathak uses dance and facial expressions to help tell about a story with many dance pieces inspired by ancient Indian epics. This is the most popular in india. Maharaj was well-known for his animated facial expressions and light-footed movements, accompanied by the sound of bells he wore around his ankles. He can draw inspiration from his own real life in his performances which was really amazing and was a skill-full storyteller. He was also an teacher of Kathak and taught students at some of the country’s premier dance institutions. In the late 1990s, Maharaj opened his own dance school, Kalashram in New Delhi. PM Narendra Modi told that he was deeply saddened at the demise of Pandit Birju Maharaj ji who gave Indian dance a unique recognition across the whole world. His passing is an irreparable loss to the entire art of the whole world.
